In this five part series called ‘The People of Outrun’, I would like to focus on the people behind the scenes that make Outrun Rare tick. A few you may have heard of but the others may surprise you just how much work goes into a project like this. Now there are over 30 busy bodies that make up Outrun Rare and without them none of this would be possible but I’d like to focus on a handful of individuals that have gone above and beyond.
Eric Riddick, a Business Development Manager at Staples and former Defensive Back in the CFL has been our go to guy for all things Print and Copy related. We were first introduced to him in late 2017. We were surprised just how quickly he started moving on print ideas and whenever asked difficult, specific questions, he would always either know the answer, know a vendor, know a guy, or have an answer for you in minutes.
Outrun Rare’s print and copy needs were substantial. We needed to print on things we didn’t even know you could print on. Whenever we asked a ridiculous question Eric would respond back ‘Yes, we can do that’. I remember once in a meeting we were going over quotes, when something didn’t seem quite right Eric got on his phone, made a quick call and came back not only with a way better price but also a couple different options for our needs. Another thing I dig about Eric is that he works quickly. Eric works in hours and days, not weeks. With placing these obnoxiously large orders we thought printed product would be delivered in weeks but when he called days later for product pickup we were floored. Either Eric works bloody hard and is ultra efficient or nobody wants to say no to a professional Defensive Back, might be a bit of both 😉
