Calgary Herald – Ultra-marathoner Dave Proctor runs through the pain in bid to cross Canada in 66 days

“By mid-morning on Wednesday, Dave Proctor is feeling more than a little disappointed with the day’s progress.”

“I did 20 kilometres already, but had to stop,” he says as he receives medical therapy in an RV parked just off the Trans-Canada Highway west of Winnipeg. “If all goes well, I’ll be back on the road in a half hour and will do another 20,” says the westerner who runs wearing his trademark white, runner-friendly Smithbilt cowboy hat.
