As we stood on my driveway in Okotoks saying goodbyes and see you soons to Julia, Sam, and Adele looking at a loaded Hyundai Sante Fe wrapped in the Outrun Rare logo and found myself nervous as hell to step in. It was going to be just me, Sharon, and Wayne making the trip out to Victoria as we plan to pick up the rest of the entourage (Trish, Mom, Dad, and the kids) as we make our way back through Calgary on July 6th. Once we turned the key and put the car in drive everything got very real.
Just days before we were picking up our wrapped Hyundai Sante Fe at Country Hills Hyundai. They are generously supplying us with the use of the Sante Fe from coast to coast to help us achieve our goals of raising over $1,000,000 for the Rare Disease Foundation and to break the TransCanadian speed record. When we approached them 8 months prior and explained our challenges of travelling crew and support town to town, the good people at Country Hills Hyundai were quick to offer support. Being handed the keys and well wishes from the staff provided calm and a sense of community spirit that made me and Sharon feel we had a whole bunch of cheerleaders and fans to usher me swiftly across this huge country.
Thank you Country Hills Hyundai for all of your support and helping us move this crazy train eastbound.
